This shot helps viewers understand the environment and the characters' positions in this scene. Medium Shot: As the tension builds during this scene as Katniss is trying to cut the branch with the jackers on it but getting stung, the use of a medium shot can be seen and used to get the audience to focus on the characters' expressions and actions seconds before the tracker jacker hive falls.
